Build notes for the Apollo Command Service Module by Revell Monogram. The kit details, decals and paint callouts leave a lot to be desired so with that in mind:

Ignore the paint callouts. They are almost all wrong, where they even bother to have them. Use reference photos for best accuracty. There was no 'green' in the command module. There are a ton of photos available online. The inside of the Command Module shell was a rust color like we used on our display model and the astronaut compartment was grey.

There are some excellent 3d printed parts on Shapeways for better and more accurat detail than the kit parts.

The Command module in the kit is either gold foil plated or gold painted (Depending on what release you have). The command module was NOT gold. It was covered in chrome foil tape strips. For the sake of simplicity we painted our Command Module with Molotow Chrome shot straight through an airbrush. If you're a stickler for detail there are guides for covering it in bare metal foil strips.

Our instrument panel was recreated from drawings and photos of the real thing and is replicated as accurately as possible given the parts in the kit.

These decals provide much needed accuracy and better detail than the kit decals/stickers as well as providing some additional markings not included with the kit. Please note that these are only availalbe in 1/32 scale - we will not respond to requests to provide this in other scales.
