Is (specific decal) in stock? We do not keep any decals in stock. All decals are printed when ordered. Effectively, each order is a custom order, but if you see it on the website, it is available for order. Back

Do you carry decals for (specific car)? Everything we have available for sale is listed on the website - if you don't see it, we don't carry it. Please make sure you check the appropriate category for the dcar you are looking for.Back

What is your return policy? Indycals does not carry any decals in stock. Any order you place is in effect a one-off comission to produce artwork intended to be incorporated into your artwork (your model car/diecast conversion, etc). As with any comissioned project, there are costs involved in producing that comission that must be covered. If you have problems with your decals we will work with you to rectify the problem (ie reprint damaged markings, etc), but we must limit cash/payment refunds to 75% on orders of $25 or less. Orders above $25 will be limited to 50% the total cost of the order. In lieu of the cash/payment refund, we will do a FULL REFUND of the decal price in the form of a credit toward a future order. Shipping costs are exempt from any refund calculations. In the event of a refund, buyer must return decals condition, and upon receipt of decals, appropriate refund will be administered. Back

How are your decals printed? As of March 1st, 2017, we are using the latest in digital LED printing (toner based) to produce our decals. Our printer is a CMYK-White printer, with true 1200 dpi resolution. The printing is very durable and scratch resistant, unlike our previous method of producing decals. The one downside is that this printer does not produce metallics or foils. Indycals decals are printed using an ALPS MD5000 or MD5500 printer. This is a ribbon based printer that is capable of printing full CMYK color, white and metallic colors. Each color requires a separate pass through the printer. Some decal sheets require as much as 12-16 passes through the printer. If you are not familiar with CMYK printing, you can learn more here. Back

How do I pay for an order? UPDATED March 15, 2020. Use the "add to cart" button on the product pages to add items to your cart. You can pay via direct credit card payment, Pay Pal or Amazon Payments. While we do accept checks by mail, we now have an 'e-Check" option at check out - you can pay by check electronically without having to mail us anything. Back

How much is shipping to my country? Shipping is $1.00 within the US, $2.00 to Canada, and $3.00 to all other countries. The shopping cart will automatically add the correct amount to your order and apply any discount that is applicable. Back

Can I use setting solution on Indycals decals? Absolutely! We recommend Solvaset and Tamiya Mark Fit Strong. Back

Can I clearcoat Indycals decals? Yes, but with a caveat. Our decals can be clearcoated, but you must NOT use enamel based clear coat - this will destroy any white printing on the sheet (and all of our sheets have some white on them). We have tested our decals with Testors Model Master Lacquer and Tamiya TS13 clear lacquer. As lacquers and other non-water based clear coats tend to be harsh, we recommend using setting solutions on the decals before clearcoating - this will help bond the decal to the paint and reduce the chances of wrinkling (I have not had any wrinkling since using this technique using Tamiya and Testors lacquers). Acrylic water based clear coats should be safe. We have also tested Johnson's (Future) Floor Wax with no problems. Regardless of what you are using, it's always best to test first. Back

Can I use Microscale Liquid Decal Film on Indycals decals? Yes, but there is no need - I've already done that before sending them to you.d Back

What are you coming out with next? I generally do not answer this question for a number of reasons. Plans and motivation can change quickly. In the instances that I do pre-announce new products check out our facebook page (link in left sidebar). Back

My Pennzoil/Belond decals have magenta/pink printing where it should be red, can you fix this? Your decals are fine - this is a printers trick that I use. Since Indycals decals use cmyk printing and since the Pennzoil and Belond cars are yellow, and since Yellow + Magenta = Red, when you apply the decals on a yellow car they will turn red. Clever huh? Back

I heard ALPS no longer makes printers/consumables - how does this affect you? Since I don't use the ALPS anymore this no lnoger is a concern. In early 2007 ALPS stopped selling and supporting printers in the US and European market, but continued producing printers in Japan through 2010. I still have access to printer repairs and consumables from Japan. Back

What color did you use on..? I've addressed this on a separate page - here. Back

Why is there a red/blue/yellow/black outline around the decal? Most of our markings are printed on a white background which in many cases needs to be the exact same size as the marking itself. When this occurs it is often that a little bit of white will show beyond the edge of the marking. This is not a desireable result when applied to the car. So I put a faint outline of the body color around the marking to hide any white that might otherwise show through. The body color ink is transparent and is not readily noticable compared to a hairline of white which would stand out more. Case in point, if there is a marking that goes on a red car, I'll trim that marking with a thin red outline. This outline is visible on the sheet, but not when applied to a red car. Back

There are horizontal lines in the printing, can you fix that? Since I don't use the ALPS anymore this no lnoger is a concern. The way the ALPS printer works is with a ribbon that makes numerous passes over the page. As the printer returns to do the next pass, the ribbon sometimes overlaps the previous pass by a very faint hairline margin. This tends to be most noticeable with metallic gold and to a lesser extent solid white. While there is nothing that we can do to eliminate this, my experience is that it is far more noticeable on the sheet than it is on the car. Back

Can I hire you to do a custom project? I would love to help you with your project, but between printing and processing orders and developing new decals I simply don't have time for custom projects these days. Back

I see that some of the kits on your site are made by Bill Jorgensen or Lance Sellers - how do I get one of their kits? Lance has his own website - www.lsresincars.com, Bill can be contacted through his email address. Back

What is the best way to reach you? Email. I can also be reached through private message at F1M.com - user name indycals. Back

My decals arrived damaged - can I get a replacement? We do our best to insure our decals will arrive in good condition to you but occasionally damage does occur in transit. If your decals arrive damaged let me know what markings on the sheet are damaged and I will send you replacements for the damaged markings. There is no need to return the damaged sheet. If you can take a picture of the damage, that helps. Back

What kit’s are out there for (Decal name)? I try to make a point to state which kit the decal sheet was designed around. In many cases the kits are hard to come by or not available at all. In most cases we offer our decals in a variety of scales, but that doesn’t mean there is a kit available for a given scale – many people like to scratchbuid and do conversions from other kits or diecasts, thus we try to offer as wide a variety as possible. Please note, that the kit the sheet was designed for doesn’t mean it can only be used on that kit. Back

How long will it take my decals to arrive? We make every effort to print your order within two days of receiving it, and we typically ship orders once a week. Depending on when your order arrives and our production schedule it can take 2-7 days to ship from the time we receive it. International orders usuall arrive within a week of shipment, but occasionally they do get delayed, in which case they can take up to 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately we have no control over this. Back

Will you notify me when my order ships? When you place an order you should receive an automatic email when it arrives in our in-box confirming we have received your order. We typically do not send out shipment notifications, but if you send an email inquiring about your order status we will respond in kind. Back

Can I get a placement guide for (decal name)? Logistically speaking it’s just not possible for me to do placement guides for all my sheets, but where possible and practical we are trying to include illustrations or photos to show where everything goes.. Back
