Fifty years after scoring their first victory at Le Mans with the GT40 Mk II, Ford returned to Le Mans with the GT40-inspired, Eco-Boost powered Ford GT for competition in the GTE-Pro category, as well as US IMSA racing in the GTLM category. Campaigned by Chip Ganassi racing, the car scored class wins at Le Mans in 2016, and the 24 hours of Daytona in 2017 and 2018. For the final factory appearance at Le Mans in 2019, Ford came out with retro-inspired liveries for the four entries. The #66 car inspired by the 1966 winner, the #67 car inspired by the 1967 winner, the #68 car inspired by the 2016 class winner, and the #69 inspired by the 1966 2nd place car.

Chip Ganassi carried two of the retro liveries over to their IMSA efforts, scoring thier first win of the year at Limerock Connecticut in the hands of Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook.

Since Le Mans, the Ganassi cars have been sporting stickers supporting a Go Fund Me account in support of Racer Magazine journalist Marshall Pruett's wife Shabral who is battling cancer. Please click the image below if you'd like to help out.
