This was the second Indianapolis 500 win for AJ Foyt, and the last ever for a front engined car at Indianapolis. The race was marred by the tragic deaths of Eddie Sachs and Dave MacDonald, which resulted in the race being red flagged for the first time ever due to an accident. Sid Collins delivered a memorable eulogy for Sachs during the red flag (MacDonald would die later in the day). When the race resumed the Lotus of pole sitter Jim Clark lead early and then Lotus driver Bobby Marshman until his car bottomed out, knocking out the oil plug and ending his day early. From there on, Foyt was pretty much unchallenged for the rest of the day.

This sheet includes the red part on the hood and the side of the car - no need to mask off these areas. The blue is outlined by a fine red stripe - just like on the real car, and there is a hairline white space between the red swoosh and the blue. If you opt to use the red supplied, the only masking required is just a little bit on the nose. If you apply the hood and side decals before painting the nose, masking will be quite easy. This sheet also features our spectacular scalloped gold effect on the numbers.
