only check Indycals

1941 Co-Winner Mauri Rose found himself running second late in the race to rookie teammate Bill Holland. Team Owner Lou Moore, sensing an easy 1-2 sweep, gave his drivers the EZ sign, basically ordering them to hold their positions. Holland heeded the EZ sing, Rose did not. As Rose came up on his teammate, Holland - thinking he was a full lap ahead of Rose - actually waved him into the lead with just eight laps remaining in the race! Holland did not realize his mistake until he went to pull into pit following the race. 1948 would again see Rose and Holland (still teammates) finish one-two again - the only time teammates swept the top two spots in consecutive years, much less from the same team. Holland finally scored a win in 1949 - his third start - and in 1950 again finished second!
