In the early 1980s Toyota set it's sights on winning the 24 hours of LeMans. One of their earliest efforts came in 1984 with the development of the 84C built by Dome. The 84C made it's debut in the 1984 Fuji 1000km race. In 1985 two Toyota's were entered in the 24 hours of Le Mans - the #36 Tom's 85C and the #38 Dome Temporary 85C - beginning a 34 year quest to capture victory.
